A Christmas message from the President
I’m not the Queen but……
Our last training session for the year is tomorrow night 6pm kick off at Dolphin Park. BBQ and an assortment of refreshing beverages are to follow.
Cail has the troops training hard and the boys are looking really good. There have been some new faces on the track and some welcome returns.
Kristian Muller and Trent Daly come into the Pod and it was great to see Leigh Farrow and Pilly having a trot around.
We are also looking forward to seeing some of the Year 12 graduates making their way out to training now they are fully recovered from Schoolies.
I would also like to welcome the incoming Executive committee for 2017.
Andy Mac is returning after a brief spell. Macca will take on the Chairman’s position vacated by Buckets. He has hit the ground running with a six-year financial plan ready to go and will oversee its implementation. Andy has played a critical role over the past decade or more in ensuring the club is financially viable. Now he is planning for our long-term sustained financial success.
With Hocko stepping down Adam Glenn comes on board as Treasurer. We welcome Glenny’s unique insights and ability to think outside the square.
Troy Kingham did an outstanding job as Social Director in 2016 and will be continuing ably supported by James Robinson and Michael Tremonte.
Paul Wadsworth will also be continuing in his role as Football Director. Chop has done a superb job and we look forward to his input in 2017.
As mentioned previously, Cal Young is stepping down from the Secretary’s position. I’m sure most of you would know by now that Cal has accepted a new role with NAB and will move to Melbourne over the next few weeks.
I think you would all agree he has made a magnificent contribution both on and off the field. Cal’s passion and professionalism has transformed the social footprint of the club and his on field leadership has been second to none. Cal takes a club first approach to everything he does and he leaves some big boots to fill.
We appreciate the continued support from Endota Spa, W Group, Key Invest, Prime Valley Pastoral, People’s Choice, Eblen Collision, Cookers Bulk Oil, Rio Coffee, Samtass Brothers Seafood and welcome Recruit Connect as a new sponsor for 2017. I can also confirm that the Arkaba will be continuing as our major sponsor which is fantastic news.
Season 2017 is shaping as a massive year for the club so my suggestion would be to get as much rest as possible. Come January, the real hard work will begin.
Wishing all Dolphins a safe and Merry Christmas.
Look forward to seeing you all in the New Year.
